What is Career Counseling/Career Coaching?

If you have ever tried to explain your life in a neat, professional paragraph, you already know the problem.

Human beings are messy.

Careers are messier.

And yet, here we are—asked to summarize ourselves in bullet points and behave like it all makes sense.

This is where I come in.

I practice career counseling and career coaching for people who suspect there might be a more honest, strategic, and even slightly more humane way to approach work.

Together, we think creatively about your next job target—not just what you can do, but what you might actually want to do before time runs out.

We tackle the classics. “Tell me about yourself,” that peculiar ritual where you are expected to sound both impressive and real without contradicting yourself.

Networking, which is often described as fun but is usually anything but—until you learn how to do it effectively, like a conversation instead of a transaction.

We work on resumes, those strange documents that attempt to flatten your life into a single page.

We build cover letter storytelling that sounds like a person wrote it, not a committee.

We shape your LinkedIn storytelling so it reflects a narrative instead of a list of obligations you survived.

Then come interviews, which are part theater, part interrogation, and entirely learnable.

And finally, salary negotiations—where you are asked to assign a number to your own existence and defend it with a straight face.

None of this is as absurd as it seems once you understand the rules.

And none of it has to feel quite so lonely.

The goal is not perfection.

The goal is clarity, momentum, and maybe even a little dignity along the way.

Career Episodes

Career Episodes are short videos for people who would like a little guidance without signing over their entire afternoon.

They cover the essential, peculiar rituals of the job search—career counseling and career coaching in small, digestible doses.

Each episode takes on one of the usual suspects: thinking creatively about your next job target, answering “tell me about yourself” without sounding like a brochure, networking effectively without losing your will to live, and making sense of resumes, cover letters, and LinkedIn storytelling so they resemble an actual human being.

There are also episodes on interviewing—equal parts performance and survival—and salary negotiations, where numbers are discussed as if they are rational and not at all emotional.

This is the perfect place to begin if you are short on time, or if you simply need a refresher before stepping back into the arena.

No grand reinvention required.

Just a clear, steady place to start again.

Resources, Templates, and Introductions

Not a fan of video?

Need a little more?
This is for you

If you prefer your guidance in a form that can be reread at midnight or quietly considered over coffee, you can get all of the video workshop content delivered by email—no stage, no spotlight, no need to pretend you are taking notes.

Inside, you will find the same ideas from career counseling and career coaching, translated into something you can actually use: templates that spare you from starting with a blank page, resources that make the process feel less like guesswork, and even the occasional introduction—because sometimes progress begins with simply knowing the right person exists.

It is everything you need, sent directly to you, in a format that understands you have a life outside of all this.

We will dive deep into your job search assets

If you are reworking your resume, reconsidering your LinkedIn, or staring down an upcoming interview with a mix of hope and suspicion, it may be time for a second set of eyes, ears, and a reasonably calm mind.

Through career counseling and career coaching, we take a close, honest look at what you are presenting to the world.

Not to turn you into someone else, but to make sure what is already there is clear, intentional, and difficult to ignore.

We will dive into your job search materials—the resume, the cover letter, the small but important details that tend to carry more weight than anyone admits.

You will receive customized feedback that is specific, usable, and, most importantly, something you can stand behind without wincing.

The goal is simple: to help you present your story in a way that feels accurate to you and persuasive to the people on the other side of the table.
